Behind the Brush

Annie Cardea is a makeup artist based in Los Angeles California where she was both born and raised. She graduated from Marlborough High School in Los Angeles and then went on to graduate from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. At Vanderbilt she received both her B.A. in Studio Art and her B.S. in Cognitive Studies.   She was formally trained as a makeup artist at Joe blasco School for Makeup where she studied a wide range of techniques, including, but not limited to special effects, character, beauty and glamour makeup.  After graduating from Joe Blasco, Annie interned, under the direction of Robert Burman, at Sticks and Stones FX Shop.  She has been working as a free lance makeup artist ever since.
